Army of Angels
Army of Angels
Based on 2 Kings 6: 15-17
When the servant of the
man of God (the prophet Elisha), got up early the next morning and went
outside, there were troops, horses and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will
we do now?” the young man cried.
“Don’t be afraid!”
Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha
prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!”
The Lord opened the
young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha
was filled with horses and chariots of fire.
When life is
a battle
And I’m
under attack,
There’s
enemies ahead
And foes
behind my back.
When danger’s
closing in
And help seems
far away,
When I feel
outnumbered
And I’m
caught in the fray.
Chorus:
I will call on
you, Lord
Your
presence is my shield.
For you
alone can save
You cause my
foes to yield.
The devil has
tactics
He’s in it
for the fight
He wants me
to believe,
There is no
hope in sight.
He shoots
his fiery darts
To make me
run and hide,
Then whispers
in my ear
Is God
really on your side?
Chorus:
I will call on
you, Lord
Your
presence is my shield.
For you
alone can save
You cause my
foes to yield.
When fear
knocks at my door
And trials
come my way,
When I can’t
hear your voice,
And I can’t
even pray.
Open my eyes
to see
Your army of
angels.
Lead the
charge, conquer my foes
With your
army of angels.
Chorus:
I will call on
you, Lord
Your
presence is my shield.
For you
alone can save
You cause my
foes to yield.
Bridge:
Army of
angels,
Army of
angels,
Your presence
surrounds me,
Like an army
of angels.
